We are a Berlin-based queer collective, label and club night focused on progressive electronic music, queer underground club culture and the communities who create and sustain it.
We believe in collective agency. Purely commercial models of production in electronic music are tired, and so is the disconnect between the industry and the community. Dance music was never supposed to be about profits and self-interest; it has always been about collective strength, community and empowerment.
Dance music culture owes its existence to LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. Those same communities continue to innovate, produce, and sustain it today, with the same values of openness, acceptance and freedom that have always been its cornerstones, even before ‘dance music culture’ was a thing. As a queer collective, it’s imperative for us to know our history, to take space as a queer event for queer people (and provide safety and priority for our communities), while being open and inclusive, and providing a kind of space we believe is needed in Berlin, as part of a healthy club ecosystem: a space where barriers can be broken down.
We envision a queer future that’s inclusive, open, and friendly, fostering a community where everyone (including straight and cisgender individuals) feels welcome – because what binds us together is something deeper than our gender or sexual identities. Common values of respect, open-mindedness, acceptance and connection. For us, it is the rejection of normativity and exclusivity that defines a new type of queerness and this is what we are interested in exploring in our parties, on our label and within our community.
Our mission is to challenge the status quo, to create a sustainable cycle of creative production which includes everyone at every step of the chain, from club owners to promoters to artists to clubgoers, to our community around us, and beyond to the broader communities we align ourselves with: people who may never even come to one of our parties or know anything about us. We strongly believe that we only do well when all of us do well. Everyone can and should benefit from a healthy club scene, not just those at the top of the chain.
